CoolSculpting and SculpSure both work to eliminate fat cells from the body. They are based off of a similar concept–changing the temperature of fat cells–but they take the fat cells to different thermal extremes.
CoolSculpting, as the name suggests, freezes the fat cells to kill them and reduce fat in a certain area. SculpSure instead uses heat to push fat cells beyond the point of viability, killing them. Once the fat cells have been killed using either heat or cold, the body works to naturally get rid of the dead cells.
The main differences between these two methods of removing fat is the process itself. CoolSculpting uses a vacuum suction to draw the tissue into the applicator device. You may feel sensations of extreme cold, but those should subside within 5-10 minutes of beginning the treatment. Once the procedure is complete, some kneading or massaging of the area is necessary.
SculpSure instead uses a number of flat applicators and laser heat to kill the fat cells. Cooling plates are used to keep your skin at a comfortable temperature throughout the procedure. Many patients experience a tingling or heat sensation inside, which is generally well-tolerated.
As you can see, neither process uses needles or surgical methods, resulting in the ability of patients to resume daily activities immediately.
